About Welgevonden Game Reserve

The Welgevonden Reserve is a beautiful landscape of rocky ravines, woodlands and savannah plains. The reserve is set alongside the Marakele National Park and is home to the famous Big Five, along with various other mammals that include the rare brown hyena, aardwolf, and aardvark. Declared as a biosphere reserve, the Welgevonden Reserve has over 5500 endemic plant species and over 300 bird species.
