Simbavati Waterside is situated in the southern Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, flanked by a large dam frequented by the wildlife in this magnificent region. Simbavati Waterside was conceptualised, designed and built to be a natural extension of the pure utopian Klaserie wilderness from which it draws its inspiration.
Water is the source of life. Throughout the year countless animal species – including predators, elephants, hippo and buffalo – are drawn to the dam to cool off and quench thirst. Here the game viewing never stops, and guests literally become part of their own private Africa for an utterly immersive and sensory safari experience.
Suited for any traveller, Simbavati Waterside offers luxury accommodation for families and couples. Families can enjoy interleading family suites and family safaris. While, those in search of romance will enjoy the lodge’s many intimate spaces, imaginative private dining settings, and surprise treats to celebrate honeymoons and anniversaries.
Facilities include a swimming pool, ‘Beach Boma’ at eye level with the dam’s water, ‘Bush Boma’ for dinner under the stars, wine cellar, lounge, bar, spa, gym, and safari boutique.
Luxury Suites
There are luxury water-facing suites boasting a king-sized bed and a beautiful game viewing deck overlooking the dam, thriving with wildlife. Guests can enjoy a spacious en suite bathroom and dressing area with ample storage space, an indoor shower, double vanity, an enclosed toilet and a door leading out to an outdoor rain shower.
Two-Bedroom Luxury Suites
There are four family suites. Each offering a main bedroom with king-sized bed, open-plan bathroom en-suite, with bath and interconnected indoor and outdoor rain-showers, and a separate WC. The second bedroom has twin beds, which can be converted to a king bed, and a separate bathroom en-suite with an indoor rain shower and WC. Each bedroom has a beautiful game viewing deck with a view of the water.
Luxury Suite with private KolKol tub
Two suites face the bush, each with a private deck and small private KolKol tub, heated by firewood in winter. Each has a king-sized bed (or twin), a spacious en-suite bathroom and dressing area with ample storage space, an indoor shower, double vanity, enclosed toilet, and a door leading out to an outdoor rain shower.
The Klaserie Nature Reserve, (approximately 60 000 hectares), is part of the Greater Kruger National Park and open to the Kruger National Park and Timbavati Private Nature Reserve.
The private game Reserve lies along the western border of the Kruger National Park with no fencing separating the reserve from Kruger or the Timbavati, allowing the animals to roam freely between the Private Game Reserves and the Kruger Park. The game in both the Kruger Park and the neighbouring reserves is essentially the same, the difference being the experience of driving in open game viewers with a professional guide and that this area is known worldwide as the area where the white lion originate from. They are born in the wild and live in this area, so the gene pool of the white lion is carried within the lions of this area.
